Warehouse Apprentice
Chelmsford, Essex

Are you eager for training and looking to join a large trade retail group? If so, a warehouse apprenticeship could be the role you're looking for.

Part of the PPG Industries portfolio of brands, Brown Brothers Distribution are the nation's leading distributor to the refinish industry. We are now looking for a Warehouse Apprentice to join our team in Chelmsford.

An apprenticeship is a fantastic way to get trained up in a particular field while earning a wage. This apprenticeship will see you learning about all areas of a trade retail operation and focusing on the warehousing function.

Warehousing involves organising and managing stock, receiving incoming deliveries, supporting outgoing deliveries and assisting staff throughout the branch with their stock needs and queries.

Specifically, as a Warehouse Apprentice, you will work with, and learn from, Warehouse Operatives and counter sales staff. You will aim to make sure that every customer has their needs met and is provided with friendly, helpful service as well as accurate and on-time deliveries.

The learning portion of your role will involve working towards an apprentice qualification and will be provided by an external training company. You will spend time on a weekly or monthly basis completing this qualification.

If you wish to apply for the role of Warehouse Apprentice, you will need, at a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above in English and Maths.

This role will involve bending and lifting weights of up to 25kg.

As a Warehouse Apprentice, you will also need to be eager and willing to gain new skills, organised and proactive in your approach to learning new things and completing tasks such as homework. The ability to work well as part of a team is vital, as is a sense of responsibility.

It would be beneficial if you have previously received formal training or gained a qualification in warehousing, logistics or transport or health and safety. However, as this is a training role, this is not an essential requirement.
