We have an incredible new opportunity to join a rapidly growing company based in Chelmsford as a Business Development Manager. This role is extremely diverse and offers an exciting working day as well as excellent progression. The client themselves handle business on an international level, and pride themselves on delivering a unique blend of Business to Business conferences, events and exhibitions. These are completed to the highest standard possible and have a strong team in place to ensure their reputation continues to grow at an impressive rate. The roles they offer are very interesting and exciting, and this is enhanced further by the fact they specialise in the Defence and Passenger Ship sectors. As a Business Development Manager, you would be joining a group of ambitious and determined individuals to assist them in their Sponsorship and Exhibition sales functions. The role would require you to sell exhibition space and sponsorship opportunities to both existing and potential corporate customers. You will have set targets you will aim to exceed and other duties of yours would be building and managing relationships with exhibitors and sponsors throughout the year. This would require you to attend conferences to meet face to face with these individuals / groups and ensure contractual arrangements are being abided. As this company conducts events Internationally, you would need to be flexible with this and be willing to travel. For your application to be successful, you will need proven Business to Business sales experience and be confident generating new business effectively. It is a strong preference your sales experience is through the Events sector, however they can look at other options. As well as this, you will need to be effective when managing income and expenditure to ensure budget requirements are met, and this can further be achieved by having strong negotiation skills, so experience with this is also desired. You will also need strong personal skills and be an effective communicator with excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written. Finally, any management experience would be a great advantage to you, especially if this was obtained in a sales environment. In return, you will receive an Annual Salary of £30,000 with a realistic On Target Earnings of £53,800, which is made up of Event Commission (uncapped) and quarterly bonuses. To ensure you will be a success in the role, our client provides a thorough training scheme to ensure you are confident with techniques, products and any objections you may face.
